Miss Evelyn never married. Following her father, Mr. Walt, she was the church secretary at Bethel Methodist Church for many years until declining health caused her to turn over the job to my sister, Kathy Tidwell Madden.

Miss Evelyn was born April 3, 1912, in Coweta County, to J. Walter and Maggie Lou Bell Byrom. She was retired from the Newnan Western Auto Store, where she worked as a secretary.

Miss Maggie Evelyn "Ebbie" Byrom, 88, of J. Walter Byrom Road, Sharpsburg, died Sunday, Dec. 24, at her home.

Visitation will be held between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at McKoon Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 28, at 3 p.m. at Bethel Methodist Church. Ray King, T.G. Hall, Don Bedsell and Ken Hamilton will preside.

Miss Byron was born April 3, 1912, in Coweta County, to J. Walter and Maggie Lou Bell Byrom. She was retired from the Newnan Western Auto Store, where she worked as a secretary.

Miss Byrom is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Bill Amis of Newnan, brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Sally Byrom of Sharpsburg, Robert and Ann Byrom of Newnan; nieces and nephews.
