Richard F. Heller, 72, of 581 Sinsinawa Ave., East Dubuque, died at 8:45am Tuesday at Mercy Hospital.
Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Haudenshield Funeral Home, East Dubuque. Services will be held Thursday morning at a time to be announced later at St. Mary's Church in East Dubuque, the Rev. John Tuchlinsky officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
He served in World War I and is a member of the American Legion Post 787 of East Dubuque.
Mr. Heller was born in Dubuque, son of Phillip and Amelia Finkenauer Heller, and lived in the Dubuque area all his life. He was employed at the John Deere Tractor Works for 11 years before retiring. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen Spoden Heller; one son, Col. Richard Heller of Omaha, Neb.; five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Laura Liddle of Paducah, KY.
