Funeral services were held December 6, 1963 at 10 o'clock a.m. for Mrs. Julia M. Dotson from the First Presbyterian Church in Lyons with Rev. Donald Bump officiating. Singers were Evelyn Nelsen, Agnes Walton, Hazel Christensen and Mardelle Cates. The organist was Mrs. Gene Thompson.

Pallbearers were John Young, Paul Karo, Edward McMonies, Robert Smith, Edwin Loppnow, Kenneth Sears.

Interment was in the Lyons cemetery with Piper service in charge.

Julia Marie Dotson, daughter of Peter Christen Nielsen and his wife Mary, was born in 1887 and passed away December 3, 1963 at the age of 76 years.

Mrs. Dotson had been in failing health for the past two years and was bedfast for the last month in the Florence Heights nursing village in Omaha.

Julia was united in marriage to John Dotson on November 21, 1904 in Tekamah, Nebr. To this union were born three sons and two daughters.

Mr. Dotson passed away shortly after the couple observed their 58th wedding anniversary on November 24, 1962.

Mrs. Dotson was preceded in death by both her parents, one son Leroy, who died in infancy, and her husband.

Survivors include two sons, Fred of Los Angeles, Calif. And Clyde of San Angelo Tex. Two daughters, Nellie Danburg of Kearney and Violet Wickman of Omaha. Two brothers, Edgar of Torrington, Wyo. and Louis of Sidney. Four sisters, Anna Strickland of Brea, Calif. Carrie Kiefer of Tekamah, Minnie Casalee of Lincoln and Edna Keen of Minden. Also three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Mrs. Dotson was a member of the Rebekahs for over forty years and had received her 40-year pin.
