Elisha Van Buren Lewis was a private in Company A, 7th Regiment, Mississippi Infantry, CSA, during the Civil War. After the war, he married Sarah Lucretia Tarver (1848-1902) on Sept. 6, 1865, in Franklin County, MS. They had 11 children.
