Memorial services for Mrs. Emma Fell were held at the Sheets & Dahn funeral home in Tipton, Friday, Feb. 8, with Elder U.J. Fike officiating. Interment was in the Tipton Masonic cemeterty.
Emma Frances Pletcher was born near Tipton, Jan. 29, 1868, the eldest child of Isaac and Eliza Fulwider Pletcher, and passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 1957, at 10:30 a.m. at the age of 89 years and 8 days. She was taken to the Woode nursing home in Tipton, Oct. 9, 1956, where she received all the loving care any one could give.
She was united in marriage to Matt Fell of Clarence, Iowa, Oct. 9, 1889, and to this union were born three children, Olin M., with whom she made her home in her declining years; Olga Edna, who preceded her mother in death in 1918, and Earl A. of Gardenia City.
After living on various farms Mr. and Mrs. Fell moved to the homestead, now occupied by Olin, in 1895. She called this place her home through the spanning years of her life.
Mrs. Fell was a member of the Reformed Church where she attended services as long as health permitted. In earlier years she often attended the Church of the Brethren.
Immediate survivors include two sons, Olin M. with whom she made her home, and Earl A. of Gardenia City, Calif.; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; a brother, John Pletcher of Tipton, and a sister Ethel Barclay of Englewood, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, three sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Fell was a kind and loving wife, a good mother and a friend to any one in need. Services and arrangements were carried out according to Mrs. Fell's wishes.
