Mr. Ritchie, of Victoria, Texas, was born in Gonzales Co., Texas, to the late Berlie N. Richie, Sr., and Lucille Lunsford Ritchie. He was a maintenance supervisor for the Texas Department of Transportation for 33 years, retiring in 1986. After World War II, where he served in the US Navy from June 5, 1946 to March 31, 1948, he became a member of the Army National Guard in Gonzales, Texas, earning the rank of First Lieutenant.
Survivors: wife Betty May Ritchie; sons Wesley K. Ritchie and Jeffrey C. Ritchie, all of Victoria, Texas; brother B. N. "Scotty" Ritchie of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 10 AM on June 20, 2007, at First United Methodist Church, Victoria, Texas, with Dr. Jason Fry officiating. Internment at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Victoria, Texas.
Pallbearers: Bradley Ritchie, Justin Ritchie, John Consley, Steve May, Ken May, and Rick May.
Honorary pallbearers: William Fink, Harold Bruns and Roy McKee.
