Mr. Woolery died Thursday, July 2, 1998, in his home.
He was born June 6, 1939, in Kansas City, Kans., to Clement Vorhees and Lenora Costello Tipton Woolery.
He married Ann Lathrom on June 28, 1959, in Lawrence. They were divorced after 35 years of marriage. She resides in Harrisonville, Mo.
He was the owner and operator of the True Value Hardware store in Sterling for five years. Before that, he was a manager for TG&Y stores in the Kansas City area.
Other survivors include three daughters, Dorris MacKowski, Boston, Kimberly Glenn, Blue Springs, Mo., and Rhonda Robertson, Chicago; a son, John Woolery, Greenwood, Mo.; a sister, Delores Steely, Eldorado Springs, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Mid America Heart Institute and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
