Funeral service for Ronald M. Scroggins were held Thursday, November 13, 2008 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel Dr. Ira Campbell, Dr. Roy Cook, and Rev. James Moore officiated. Burial followed in Weaver Cemetery at Flora, La. Mr. Scroggins, 68, of Natchitoches, La., died Monday, November 10, 2008, in his residence at Powhatan, La. He was a native of Flora, La. He was retired from The Department of Agriculture and Forestry for the State of Louisiana and a cattleman and rancher. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. Ron was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Brent Scroggins; great grandson, Trey Chandler; parents John William Scroggins and Ouida Longlois Scroggins; father-in-law, Lucien Cox and mother-in-law, Annie Riddle Cox. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Robbie Cox Scroggins of Natchitoches, La.; one daughter of West Monroe, La.; two granddaughters; one great granddaughter of Natchitoches, La.; one sister and brother-in-law of Flora, La.; one brother and sister-in-law of Simsboro, La.; and one sister-in-law. Honorary pallbearers were all law enforcement personnel and many life long friends.
