Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at a 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Daisy Dean Hebert, age 54, the former Daisy Dean Hernandez, who passed away Monday, August 27, 2007 at 4:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. John S. Kennedy, will officiate at the services.
Musical selections will be provided by Julie Broussard, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs will be Amazing Grace, Here I Am Lord, You Will Always Be A Child In My Eyes, Wind Beneath My Wings, and Be Not Afraid.
Mrs. Hebert was a native and lifelong resident of Vatican. She was previously employed with the Lafayette Parish School Board. Daisy "Yo" Hebert loved life. She enjoyed camping, working in the yard, and spending time with her many friends. Most of all she cherished being a mother. She will always be remembered by her infectious smile and her love for having fun.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Dean Hebert of Vatican; one son, Joby Hebert of Vatican; four daughters, Katie Boudreaux of Vatican, Cindy Herpin of Judice, Marsha Smith and her husband, Andy of Arnaudville, and Phoebe "Poulet" Hebert of Vatican; six grandchildren, Brittanie Boudreaux, Tylor Quebedeaux, Alysse Herpin, Cody Simon, Jessi Simon, and Heidi Vincent; three great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Angelle, Paige and Paisley Vincent; and one half-brother, Harry Lee Hernandez and his wife, Clara, of Ossun.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shannon Simon; a grandson, Garret Simon; and her parents, Davis Hernandez and the former Ernestine Benoit.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Joby Hebert, Andy Smith, Terry Benoit, Jerry Benoit, Conrad Babineaux, and Lenwood Babineaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Tylor Quebedeaux and Cody Simon.
The family would like to give special thanks to Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center 5th Floor Staff, Kelly Zaubrecher, Hospice of Acadiana, Rev. Mike Champagne, Dr. Blanchet, Dr. Panelli, and First Option Home Health.
