On March 17, 1892 he was married in Blair, Nebraska to Janet Bowland. They were blessed with two children.

Funeral Services for Bert H. Romans, 72, were held last Tuesday afternoon at the Shafer & Peck Funeral Home at Tekamah. Rev. T. Porter Bennett officiated, and burial was made in the Tekamah cemetery. He passed away at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Walter Kramer, where he has made his home the past year. Born at Coldwater, Michigan, on October 15, 1865, he came to Burt county in 1869 and has been a well-known landowner in Burt and Washington counties. Mrs. Romans died in 1931. Surviving are two children: a daughter, Mrs. Maude Kramer of Herman; a son Bry of Tekamah; one sister Mrs. Flora Conkling of Omaha; two grandchildren, Robert and Phyllis Kramer.
