Robert Wriston Bennett, 75, of Jumping Branch, died 2:45 p. m. Sunday, December 20, 1992, in a Jonesboro Ark., medical center, following a long illness.
Born November 27, 1917 at Mabscott, he was the son of the late Johnny W. and Reba Brogan Bennett.
Mr. Bennett was a retired fireman at a brick plant, member of the New Salem Baptist Church at Abraham, member of the American Legion and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He made his home with his son at Jonesboro, Ark., for the past three months.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Garden Bennett at home; three sons, Dr. Bob Bennett of Jonesboro, Ark., Jimmy and Bill Bennett of Orlando, Fla.; three brothers, Ronald Bennett of Shady Springs, Russell Bennett of Oak Hill, and
Stephen Bennett of Raleigh; and a sister, Margaret Bradford of Beckley.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, at the New Salem Baptist Church, Abraham, with Brother Danny Winders officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home from 5 p. m. to 9 p.m. today.
