Carrie Block, age 81, of Little Rock passed away on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007. She was born in Little Rock and was a retired Realtor from Block Realty Company and later as Block/Kaiser Realty for over 30 years. She was a past President of the Home Builders Auxiliary, March of Dimes "Mother of the Year" in 1962 and served as Secretary for the Big Brothers of Pulaski County for 15 years. She was an active member of her beloved Agape Sunday school class and the Caring Hands prayer shawl ministry at St. James United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents Henry & Lelah Ross, brother Buddy Ross, and sisters Marguerite McCreight and Betty Thomas. She is survived by her son, Lew Block of Little Rock, her daughter Babs Fowler and husband Gray of Jackson, MS, sister Francis Greenwood of Little Rock, grandchildren Lora Block of Austin, TX, Daniel Fowler and wife Becky of St. Mary's, GA, and Tracy Fowler of Brentwood, TX, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4 at St. James United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Haustein and The Rev. Dan McKee officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be the Agape Sunday school class.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to March of Dimes or St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock. Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
