Dorsey Otis Henderson, 72, of Waynesburg RD 1, died at 10:45 AM Saturday, May 4, 1974 at the Greene County Memorial Hospital after having been seriously ill for the past several days.
He was born February 10, 1902 in Jackson Township near Bluff, a son of the late George B. and Mary A. Henderson. His wife Leona Crayne Henderson, whom he married on July 8, 1927 survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Loyce (Barbara Jane) Adams of Sacramento, California and Sue Henderson of Waynesburg RD 1. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
A sister, Mrs. Winfield (Rebecca) Hull of Waynesburg and three brothers, Morgan of Waynesburg, Jesse of San Diego, California and Kelsey of Washington also survive. Two sons, Eddie and Bobbie, a sister and seven brothers preceded him in death. Several nieces and nephews survive.
He had spent the early part of his life in the Bluff area and had spent nearly 30 years in Nevada and California where he was involved in gold mining. He returned to this area in 1964.
During the early period of World War II he was stationed at Pearl Harbor where he was employed by the Federal Government and he was at Pearl Harbor during the surprise attack of December 7, 1941.
