Obituary - "DEATH OF IRA PARKER"
Well Known Resident of the Island Passed Away

"Ira C. Parker, a well known resident of the island died last night at 11:15 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emil Perkuhn, 817 East Ninth Street after a short sickness, death resulting from weakening of the heart. He had not been feeling well for the past three months and his condition became gradually more serious. Mr. Parker came to the city last Friday to receive better attention at the home of his daughter.

Mr. Parker was born Dec. 20, 1846, at Johnson, Trumbull County, Ohio, being 62 years of age. He came to Hall County Nov. 1. 1883, and located on a farm on the island, southwest of the city and has resided there ever since. Though not actively engaged in work in recent years Mr. Parker has been superintending work on the farm. Mrs. Parker departed this earth Sept. 9, 1903. Those left to mourn the loss of their father are Mrs. Minnie Perkuhn, David E. Parker, of East Fourth Street, Mrs. Jennie Dibbern, residing near Wood River, George T. Parker of the island and Lorin B. Parker, who resided at the home place. The funeral will take place Thursday morning at 11 o'clock from the farm southwest of Sand Krog."
