Virginia Pearl Asbury, 80, of Lonsdale went to be with the
Lord Friday August 31, 2007.
She was born Octbober 10, 1926, in Lonsdale.
Mrs. Asbury worked for Hubbard Farms and was a member of Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Flora Tate, and her husband, A.D. Asbury.
She is survived by three sons, Rodney Asbury and wife Mary, Rickey Asbury and wife, Polly, and Donnie and wife, Gigie; one daughter, Charlotte Kyle and husband, Kenny; one brother, Murl Tate, nine grandchildren, Chrystal Guin and husband, Curtis,William Kyle and wife, Mandy, Jamie Asbury, Mindi Asbury, Rodney Asbury, Josh Asbury, Stephanie Asbury, Chad Asbury; five great-grandchildren, Trey Guin, Ashley Guin, Eric Guin, Wyatt Witham and Andrew Kyle.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home with the Rev. Vance Nutt officiating. Burial will be in Fairplay Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh Keen, Curtis Guin, David Griffin, Willie Rhodes, David Lashlee and Charles Warford.
Family comments: Known to everyone as "Granny" she was a true blessing to her family. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was always open to everyone, with an abundance of food and love. We extend our gratitude to the nurses and doctors involved with Granny's care; especially Troy from Hospice.
