Statesman, Prime Minister of Sweden. He served from 19 April 1880 to 13 June 1883. Prior to becoming prime minister he received a law degree from Lund University in Sweden. He then worked at the district courts and at the Court of Appeal. He was later appointed assistant district judge and in 1846 a clerk at the Court of Appeal and in 1847 was made an associate justice at the court. In 1849 left public service and devoted his time to agriculture, enterprise and local politics. From 1865–1868 he was the president of Malmöhus County (later Skane) Council. He became a member of parliament serving at various times with various positions from 1856 to 1880 when he was appointed prime minister. He is best remembered for his efforts to reform the military allotment system and the land taxes which had some partial success. After leaving office he was appointed President of the Administrative Court of Appeal until 1889.
