Charles Wesley McMichael died April 16,

Charles Wesley McMichael, the son of Robert and Ruth Ann McMichael was born in Nodaway County on March 28, 1882 and departed this life April 16, 1943 at the St Mary's Hospital in Kansas City, MO at the age of 61 years, 18 days.

He was united in marriage to Minnie Liew Miller in 1913 and to this union 3 children were born: Mrs Edna Hill of Stanberry, Miss Alta McMichael of Kansas City and Mrs Rose Arthur of New Hampton. His wife passed away on January 11, 1910. He was united in marriage on August 10, 1918 to Mabel Marie Schaub at St Joseph. To this union 7 children were born: Beldon Wesley who died at the age of 3 weeks, Wilma Jan, Betty Lou, Wilbur Lee, Raymond George, Don and Glenn Dale, all of the home, who with the wife are left to mourn the loss of a husband and father. Also 5 of the grandchildren survive, two having preceded him in death.

Mr McMichael was a member of a family of 10 children. Five brothers survive: Gene of Denver, William and Larkin of Elmo, MO, Elmer of Gentry and Jesse of Lincoln, NE.

He lived a number of years at Elmo, MO, then moved to a farm in Harrison county, Butler township, where he lived for several years. He was living at Grayson, MO at the time of his passing.

Funeral services were held at the Christion church in New Hampton Sunday, April 18th at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev O.D. Hedges, pastor. Songs were: "Going Down the Valley", "Have Thine Own Way" and "Rock of Ages" were sung by Newt and Wilma Sheughnessy, Gillie Blessing and Garland Arthur with Mrs Newt Sheughnessy at the piano. Pallbearers were Henry and Homer McMichael, Elmer Sharp, Chester Boulting, Ben Bailey and Earl Arnold. Flower bearers were Grace and Velva McMichael, Darlene Hill, Mary Lou Arthur, Darlyne Robinson and Emilie Hessenblow. The body was laid to rest in the Foster Cemetery under the direction of W G Noble and son.
