Funeral servics for the late Henry Hyder were held at the Christian Union church yesterday afternoon. A large crowd of old friends of Mr. Hyder attended expressing their sympathy and sorrow for his bereaved family.
Later word received from Colorado stated that his death was due to an automobile accident. Mr. and Mrs. Hyder were riding together when their car went over an embankment, pinning them both underneath. Mr. Hyder was so seriously hurt that he died two days later, and Mrs. Hyder received painful cuts and bruises and a badly wrenched back.
Mrs. Hyder accompanied her husband's remains to this city, and Frank Campbell, who had been called to Colorado by news of the accident, returned with her. The two children are with their grandmother in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Fern Lord Herring, a niece of Mr. Hyder, and Mrs. Major a friend of Mrs. Hyder, came from Kansas City yesterday to attend the funeral.
