Andrew, like many of his relatives, served in the Revolutionary War fighting the British. He was a Private in the New Jersey Militia. He applied for his pension in 1833 and was awarded an annual payment of $30 and received $100 at that time.

It is believed that after the Revolutionary War, sometime between1800-10, Andrew and his seond wife, Mary Yawger, migrated from New Jersey to present day Springport, Cayuga County, NY. They used small "Jersey wagons' to move their goods and supply. It is possible he and his family might have travelled with the Yawger's, Barkley and Hamilton famlies. He had owned property in Hunderton Co, as there is a deed transfer, where he and Elizabeth sold property in 1800.

Moved from Trenton to Springport in 1809. Stayed until 1817, then moved to Richmond-Hecht, William Rootsweb GEDCOM (Descendants of Philip Yawger) Aurelius is now Town of Springport Cayuga Co., NY,

Around 1820, Andrew, his wife, his children from both marriages and Thomas Barkley and his family (son of Mary from first marriage migrated to Ontario County. Also joining them were Crandalls and the Hamilton families. I cannot find a connection with the Hamilton family, but assume there is one, as some of them are buried in the Bray-Barkley-Hamilton Cemetery.-GSF

Of interest, is that there is documentation that Andrew served in the Revolutionary War, but records of Revolutionary War soldiers buried in Ontario County does not include Andrew.

One source believes that Andrew may have been married three times. In addition to Mary and Elizabeth, it is thought that he had also married Elizabeth's sister
