George Michael Cohan started his career performing as part of the Four Cohans in vaudville, with his mother, father, and sister. He was a singer, dancer, songwriter, playwright, producer, director and author. His Broadway plays and other credits are far too numerous to list here. He was awarded a special medal of honor by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, for his wartime songs Over There, and You're a Grand Old Flag. James Cagney portrayed George M.
