Abilene, Texas - Lydia E. Heath, 92, died Friday, August 24, 2007, at a local nursing center.

She was born March 13, 1915, in Hackensack, New Jersey, to Arthur T. Heath and Lydia H. (Hoffman) Heath. Lydia served her country in the United States Navy during World War II. She worked as a laboratory technician for the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office. Lydia was a former member of the Church Of The Open Door in California. She moved to Abilene in the early 1990s and was a member of Abilene Bible Church.

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother. She is survived by one niece, Penny Plotkin, or Pasadena, Calif., and one nephew, Dr. Robert "Bob" Heath of Mantua, Ohio.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif., under the direction of Forest Lawn Mortuary, 1712 South Glendale Avenue, Glendale, California 91205. No services will be held in Abilene. Local arrangements were made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
