Loretta also attended Wayne County Community College in Detroit, Michigan, where she graduated with honors and received an Associates of Arts Degree in Mental Health.
She was also an Ordained Minister and a student of ancient religion. The Rev. Orchid Dunkwu, as she was known, had a firm grasp and understanding of the origins of religion and never stopped studying the Bible and praising Jesus Christ.
Loretta departed this life on Sunday, December 22, 2002 in Detroit, Michigan.
She leaves to mourn: her mother, Mary Pierce; a sister, Viverone Rayford of Atlanta, GA; seven children: Julius Kelly, III (Ellareya), Chandra Holloway (Daren), Melvin Kelly, Mary Jinks (John, deceased), Starla Davis (Eddie), and Toyia Jean Kelly. Her child, Charisse Stokes, preceded her in death. A niece, Ebony Rayford; 18 grandchildren, Brian, Tanequa, Willie, Sunsearae, Jason, Joi, Diamond, Kevin, Antonio, Gabriel, Antonecia, Angela, Vincent, Shamari, Lauren, Lionell, Arianna, Morgan; and nine great-grandchildren.
