Walter Monroe Scarbrough was the son of James Newton and Emma Cornelia (McFadden) Scarbrough. He had 3 brothers and 2 sisters: William Joseph, John David, James Oscar, Emma, and Alma B.
Walter married Erma Ardle Hannon. They had nine children: Adrian Leroy, Helois Linett, Louise, Alma Leon, Alice LaNell, Thelma Jo, Charlie Monroe, Willis Walter, and Virginia Ann.
He died a the age of 78. His grave is unmarked and is buried near his daughter Lois, and his sister Alma Hindsman.
