Imogene Robinson (formerly Imogene Alexander) was born August 26, 1930 in South Bend, Indiana. She attended the local public schools including Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis. She graduated in 1948 from Niles Michigan High School. Mrs. Robinson was employed by the South Bend Model Cities, Urban League and Housing Allowance as a consultant and administrator. She retired from Ft. Benjamin Harrison U.S. Army of Indianapolis in 1993 in the Accounting Department.

Imogene Robinson was involved in many church activities including Director of the Women's Choir at Zion Tabernacle with Bishop Joe Ferris and Director of Heritage Choir at Christ Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith with Bishop Byron Johnson. She was also a pianist for Christ Temple Sunday School with Bishop Charles Finnell. Imogene was a former member of the Indiana State Pentecostal Choir under the direction of Ronald Curry. At the Bethel Tabernacle of South Bend, she was also a pianist under the leadership of Elder J.R. Freeman and Elder Ardel Sanders.

Imogene performed civic duties such as Department of Corrections for the State of Indiana, pianist for the Girls School Juvenile Division, and for the Ministry Penitentiary.

On March 19, 1977 she was united in marriage to Leroy A. Anthony Robinson of Indianapolis, Indiana. Their union spanned over 26 ½ years. Mrs. Robinson is survived by one sister: Vernette Alexander-Simmons, six children: Wayne L. Berry, Victor L. Berry, Gaddis Von Berry III, Barbara (Jerry) Berry-Simmons, Terri (James) Dixon-Johnson, Phillip M. Dixon; six step-children: Gerald Robinson, James Robinson, Phyllis Robinson, Deborah Robinson, Mark Robinson, and Michelle Robinson. Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren: Janika Flakes, Miguel Flakes, Jovan Berry, Terrance L. Johnson, Chandler Dixon, Makayla Dixon, Da Juan Tyrrell Simmons, Jerry Lendell (Buster) Simmons, Naketi Latoy (Keke) Simmons, Sean Tyrone Simmons, Jarrett Mark (Papoose) Simmons.

Mrs. Robinson departed this life on July 25, 2006 following a lengthy illness at St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. Robinson had been living in the Atlanta area with her son and daughter.
