Only Son and child of George Washington and Mattie Anderson Brown - husband of Hattie C. Bryan - children, Mattie Mae Brown Pilcher, John P. Brown, Jr. and George Shannon Brown. He lived in Shreveport and ran a grocery on Gilbert St. near corner of Rutherford (the family home).( 402 Rutherford now a parking lot but there is so much history that has been left behind there). For several years he was with Piggly Wiggly and operated Dixie Cleaners and Dyers. Mr. Brown (as his wife called him) died of accute indigestion (probably a heart attack) less than two years after her while working in Ringgold.
