Judith Hyde Fuller passed away July 28, 2007 after a long illness. Judy was born April 21, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gordon Taylor Hyde and Florence Ivins Hyde. In 1948 she married Forrest Wayne Fuller a brilliant law student and ex-Army Captain (World War II).
She is survived by her four children, Meg Averett (Jim Gilson), Susan Maloch (Mark), Forrest Fuller (Victoria Johnson) and Gordon Fuller, Art Averett (son in law), as well as her six grandchildren, Courtney Phelps (Cary), Whitney Fautin (Josh), Taylor Fuller, Brandon Fuller, Duncan Maloch and Sierra Maloch and 10 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her brother Gordon Ivins Hyde, sister Elizabeth "Betty" Hyde Eastman and niece Christine Eastman along with her mother and father, husband and her beloved beagles Tasha, Churchill and Lilly.
Judy was fiercely independent and stood up for her family and friends. She was an incredible knitter and kept her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren warm with her gifts of love. Judy was and advocate for youth in
need. She worked for many years at both Odyssey House and Decker Lake youth facility. She loved "her kids" many of whom kept in touch with her over the years.
Judy lived in Salt Lake City her entire life. Judy was politically savvy until the end. She loved to garden, took pride in her home and raised many beagles including the last great love of her life, Missy. Of all her accomplishments, she was most proud of her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Judy was a breast cancer survivor and in her last years battled Alzheimer's Disease. Please consider planting a tree or flower in her memory or making a donation to your favorite cancer society or Alz-heimer's society.
Graveside services will be held at the Salt Lake Cemetery just below the 11th Ave west gate at 11 a.m. Wed., August 1st. Friends and family may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple from 9:45-10:45 a.m. followed by a
procession to the cemetery. There will be a celebration of Judy's life at Red Butte Garden and Arboretum 300 Wakara Way from 12:00- 2:00 p.m.
