WISHEK -- Violet Ketterling, 61, Wishek, died Dec. 14, 1997, in the Wishek nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Wishek, with the Rev. Jodi Waugness officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek.
Violet Bader was born March 16, 1936, southwest of Wishek, the daughter of Anton H. and Lydia (Gall) Bader. She received her elementary education in the local rural school southwest of Wishek, where she grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.
She and Walter R. Ketterling were married Sept. 8, 1957, at Wishek. They made their home on his parents' farm north of Wishek, and in 1962, he took over the ownership. In 1980, they moved into Wishek, where she worked at the Boschee Motel until January 1983, when she began working at the Wishek Hospital until January 1997, when she retired due to ill health.
She was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Wishek.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; her children, Lawrence and Elvira, Lehr, LaVonne and Richard Lewis, Fergus Falls, Minn., Darlene and Paul Fritz, Marshall Islands, Richard and Charlotte, Wishek, and Norma and Randy Hahne, Ashley; two brothers and three sisters, Leo and Betty Bader, Lansing, Mich., Delores and Ray Zimmerman, Lehr, Cliff Bader, Aberdeen, S.D., Eva and Margetus Schwind, Fargo, and Alma and Don Werth, Fargo.
She was preceded in death by her father; and one sister, Florence. (Haut Funeral Home, Jamestown)
