1 June 1977: Services for Mrs. Gertrude M. Anderson Gring, 77, formerly of the Eisenhower Apartments, 835 Franklin St., will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. Major H. S. knickerbocker will officiate in the FrancisF. Seidel, Inc., funeral home. Burial will be made in the Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. Mrs. Gring died Tuesday morning in the Zerbe Sisters Nursing Home, Narvon R.D. 1, Lancaster County, where she was a guest 27 months. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late James and Maggie (Sellers) Lash. A member of the Salvation Army Citadel, she had been the den mother of the cub pack at the citadel for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lon S. Anderson, in 1965, and by her second husband, Walter Gring, in 1974. Surviving are two daughters, Pearl D., wife of Richard Darkes, Harrisburg, and Virginia A., wife of Kenneth McKinney, Reading; a son, Robert L., Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Three stepsisters: Catherine, wife of Charles Delcorse, Lancaster; Sarah Eddinger, Philadelphia, and Helen Eddinger, Jonestown. [The Reading Eagle]
