Son of Homer Sylvester and Myrtle Belle Rosalia (Harrison)Lawvere. Served with the U.S. Navy in WWI on several ships.
Married first to Mildred Sponenberg and had his two children with her, Robert Arthur Lawvere and Beth Ilene "Betty" Lawvere (Shipe). Mildred died of tuberculosis in 1931.
He then met and married wife #2, Antoinette Colotto in North Bergen, NJ where he worked. He opened a necktie factory called "Boucle". Later he worked on the docks of the Hudson River as a dock-keeper.
After he retired in NJ, he moved back to Pennsylvania and married a third time in the 1980's to Margaret (Rittenhouse) Wagenseller.
