WAR of 1812:served in Baltimore was noted as one of the Old Defenders-Maryland Militia. Pvt in Capt. John Kennedy's Co., 27th Regt., Baltimore City.
He was son of Nathaniel Childs and Tamar Wroth Childs.
Thomas married Temperance Atkinson Inloes 11 Feb. 1802, Baltimore, Maryland. Their ten children were: Joseph 1802; William 1803; George 1804; Eliza 1805; Henry Inloes 1805; Temperance 1808; Edward 1810; Thomas 1813; Margaret Amanda 1815; and Eleanor 1819. (There is NO Julia in our family tree)
His occupations were: brick maker; carpenter; painter; keeper of boarding house and grocer. He was a master builder, and the first person to invent and manufacture pressed brick for the fronts of homes and businesses, in Baltimore.
