HERMAN FLASCH BUREID MONDAY
The funeral of Herman Flasch, a former St. Kilian resident, who died at Emergency hospital, Milwaukee last Friday from injuries inflicted by an unknown assailant, was held from St. Kilian's church at 10 o'clock Monday morning. A solemn Requiem high mass was conducted at which a brother of the deceased Rev. Conrad Flasch was celebrant. The Rev. Peter Flasch of Milwaukee, nephew, was deacon and the Rev. John Reichel was sub-deacon. Six nephews acted as pallbearers. They were Leo, Joseph, Alphonse, Andrew, and Anton Flasch and Alphonse Schrauth. Burial was held in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Flasch who was 59 years of age, died at Emergency Hospital last Friday in Milwaukee, where he was picked up unconscious in an alley at Reed and Lake streets, while on rout from Waterloo, Iowa to the funeral of his nephew, Frank Flasch, held in St. Kilian, is believed to have been the victim of an assault and robbery.
His body was taken by motor to the home of his brother Andrew, at St. Kilian Saturday.
The deceased was born in 1867 in the Town of Ashford and lived in the vicinity for many years, moving to Merrill a few years ago. Last March he went to Waterloo to accept a position as landscape gardener.
Surviving are two brothers, the Rev. Conrad Flasch of Wis., and Andrew of St. Kilian and a sister, Mrs. Catherine Schrauth of Barton
