Hall of Fame Major League Baseball Player. He played Major League baseball as a shortstop for 13 seasons with the New York Yankees (1941 to 1942, 1946 to 1956). A World War II United States Navy veteran, he was a member of seven World Series Championship teams with the Yankees, and became a long time broadcaster with the team after retiring. Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994, he was known by baseball fans for his phrase "Holy Cow!"

You were, and still are, my favorite all-time baseball player. Growing up and watching you and the Yankees play in the WS have created so many fond memories...and made me a NY Yankee fan!!!!!! RIP|
