Luther Whaley, 84, of St. Clair Shores, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, in St. John Hospital, Detroit. He was born Aug. 7, 1923, in Sevierville, Tenn.
Mr. Whaley is survived by his wife, Polly; children, Michael (Cheryl) and Rhonda (Edward) Swiderski; grandchildren, Amy, Justin, Erin and Megan; and brother, Jonas (June). He was predeceased by 11 siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores. Visitation is 2:30-9 p.m. today.

Memorial contributions may be addressed to Alzheimer's Association, Michigan Heart Foundation or St. John Hospice. Memories may be shared with the family at www.kaulfuneralhome.com.
