Robert McClellan Kisabeth, Sr., died August 11, 2007 after an extended illness in Charleston, SC. Born June 8, 1920 in Louden Township, Seneca County, Ohio, he was the son of William Earl Kisabeth and Carrie may McClellan. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the 34th Red Bull Division, 2nd Army Corps and fought in the North African campaign. He was seriously wounded at the famous Battle of Hill 609 in Tunisia. While serving in the military, awards included the French Criox de Guerre with Palms, Bronze Star with Valor, and the Purple Heart with Cluster. After an extended recovery and an honorable discharge in January 1945, he returned to his job at Wall Wire Products Company where he rose from apprentice tool and dye maker to president of Wall Tube and Metal Products Co. in 1985. His many lifetime activities included his service in the Free and Accepted Masons. Among his honors was being awarded the Order of the Knight Crusaders of the Cross in 1986. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Jimmye Joye Harris, his mother and father, 5 brothers and a sister. Survivors include his sister, Geneva Birchall, his 5 sons and their wives, Dr. Charles William and Anne, Craig Harris and Connie, and Steven Holt and Pam; and 13 grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for September 15th at 11AM at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Newport, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Charleston, 3870 Leeds Ave, Suite 101, North Charleston, SC 29405 or to the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, 304 Crosby Hwy., Newport, TN 37821.
