PHILLIPS, 98, DIES FRIDAY

The Rev. Howard Phillips, 98, of Maryville, died Friday at Blount Memorial Hospital.
He was a Presbyterian minister and was the husband of Mrs. Ruth Wilson Phillips, daughter of former Maryville College President Samuel Tyndale Wilson.
Other survivors include; nieces and nephews, Doris Griffitts, Dr. Samuel Wilson, both of California, Carl Murray of Alabama, Marion E. Middleton, Mrs. Delbert Julian, Eva Estelle Hobson and Emory Green, all of Indiana.
Memorial service was scheduled for 3 p.m. today at New Providence Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John T. Mathison officiating. Family will receive friends immediately after the service. McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home is in charge of the service.
