Mrs. Mildred Thomas Griffee Benham, 83, of Route 2, Brandenburg, died Thursday, April 26, 1990 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was born November 22, 1906, the daughter of the late Stuart Washington and Mary Carolina Board Griffee. She was preceded in death by her husband, George P. Benham in 1972.
She was a member of New Brandenburg Baptist Church and Meade County Senior Citizens, and a past member and officer of the Brandenburg Women's Club.
She is survived by four sons, Thomas Franklin Benham, Reno, Nevada; Kenneth Ray Benham, Covington, Virginia; Roy Dean Benham and Stuart P. Benham, both of Brandenburg; three daughters, Mrs. Kay McGehee, Mrs. Rose Welch and Mrs. Mary Evelyn Thornhill, all of Brandenburg; one brother, Stuart Ray Griffee, Brandenburg; 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from New Brandenburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Wade Bibb and Rev. Michael S. Benham officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Hager Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Jerry Benham, Carl Benham, Randy Benham, Johnny Thornhill, Jim Welch, Willie Benham, Jeff Benham and Bernie Benham.
