Brandt was born Dec 26, 1917 to Edward and Matilda (Miller) Brandt at
Hooper. He grew up in Hooper and came to Fremont in 1932.
He was employed at the former Auto Electric, Grant Chevrolet, Al Pinper Motors and then for Sid Dillon Olds-Cadaillac, all in Fremont, as a mechanic and parts manager. He retired in 1982.
On June 25, 1939 he married Carol L Gocken at Fremont.
He was a member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 200 and the Senior Citizens Bowling League, all of Fremont. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ramona Holmes: and two grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Susan Brandt of Wahoo and Dennis and Ellen Brandt of Arlington; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Garry Greenbush of Arlington; two sisters and brother-in-law, Marjorie Johnson of Yucaipa, California and Judy and Edward Toledo of Boulder, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, Jan 6 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fremont. Reverend Leland G Uden officiated. Burial was at Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles White, Garlan Schultz, Charles Ladd, Kerry Salyers, Larry Homes and Kiel Eltiste. Honorary pallbearers were Carrol Freeman, Harold McDuffee and Reverend Leland Foreman.
Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, is charge of arrangements.
