R. E. Milnes Dies On 62nd Birthday
Funeral Rites Set For 2 p.m. Wednesday
EDINBURG, Dec. 11 – Roy E. Milnes, who had been ill at his home for the past two weeks, died Sunday night at 9:50 o'clock, on his 62nd birthday.
Funeral services will be held in the Edinburg Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Ray Bozell, pastor of Old Union Church officiating. Burial will be made in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The body has been taken from the Gosney funeral home to the late residence where friends may call after 4 o'clock Tuesday. They are invited to attend the rites.
Resided On Farm
Born Dec. 10, 1888, in Bartholomew County, he was the son of the late William T. and Mrs. Katherine Coy Milnes. A farmer, he was a resident of Jackson Township Shelby County, in the St. George community.
He was married to Carrie Ford and they were the parents of two sons and one daughter. One son, William, preceded his father in death.
After the death of Mrs. Milnes, he was married to Mrs. Masie Lewis in 1941 and she survives with the son, Arthur Milnes, of Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Belvia Ferris, of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandsons, two step-children, Mrs. Ruth Reynolds, Richard Lewis, of Marion; a brother, Alva Milnes, of Morristown and one sister, Mrs. Mary Stillabower, of Waldron.
