She married Geo Washington Piland 7/16/1911.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at East Side Baptist Church for Bessie Lee Piland.
Mrs. Piland, 91, died Thursday, June 26, at Haskell Nursing Center.

The Rev. Darrell Feemster officiated. Burial was in Willow Cemetery, under direction of Holden-McCauley Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Buford Cox, Chunky Tidwell, Carroll Scheets, Dent Atchison, Jess Leonard and John Sparkman.

Born June 19, 1895, in Bell County, Mrs Piland came to Haskell County, TX in 1905 in a covered wagon.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Henshaw, pioneer residents of Haskell County.
She was married to George W. Piland in Haskell July 16, 1911. She was a Baptist. Mr. Piland died in 1965. A daughter and a son preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John (Marie) Bartley and Maybelle Benton, both of Haskell, and Mrs. Ed (Maggie Lee) Melton of Abilene; three sons, M. C. Piland and Otis Piland, both of Abilene, and Grady Piland of Tyler; a sister, Callie Phillip Scheets of Amarillo; 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
