Ben was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania the son of Yugoslavia immigrants. His father Michailo "Michael" Sikirica arrived in the United States in 1905. His mother Stanka "Jennie" (Popovich) Sikirica arrived in 1911. Ben was the oldest of six children. He died at the Laurel Wood Convalescent Center, in Johnstown.

Ben married Dorothy (Dudukovich)Sikirica and father a daughter, Jeanette (Sikirica) Czubak. Subsequently he married the former Madalan (Knepper), his wife at the time of his demise.

He was a retired city fireman. Also employed by Thomas Kinzey Lumber Company. He was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, Johnstown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother John Sikirica, just three days earlier; and sister Darinka "Saya" Sikirica.

He was survived by his wife Madalan; his daughter Jeannette and her husband Vincent Czubak, of Campbell Hall, New York; granddaughter Stephanie Sewak also of Campbell Hall; stepchildren, Judith, wife of Thomas Minnick of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, Illa, wife of Thomas Peterson of Johnstown; four step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was also survived by brothers George, of Broadalbin, New York, Nicholas, of Sarasota, Florida, Milo (1924-1997) of Los Vegas, Nevada and their wives, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, with the Very Reverend Dr. Nedeljko Grgurevich, officiating.
