Edward Lynn Nelsen

Edward Lynn Nelsen was born on July 5, 1949, to Clarence and Irene Mae (Schnoor) Nelsen near Logan. He graduated from Woodbine High School in 1967. Ed married Jeanne Rother on February 14, 1969, in Missouri Valley, Iowa. He worked at Kelley Ryan in Blair, Nebraska, and various other jobs until he started at John Deere in 1979. Ed retired from there after 40 years.

Ed enjoyed gardening and target practicing. He was an avid camper and he and Jean were often campground hosts at Schaben’s Park. Ed was a great mechanic. More than anything, Ed cherished his time with his kids and grandkids.

Ed died at home on March 25, 2020, at the age of 70 years, eight months and 20 days.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Nelsen of Woodbine; four children, Henry Nelsen, Dale Nelsen and wife Laura, and Brandon Nelsen all of Woodbine, and Keria Nelsen of Harlan; nine grandchildren; siblings, C. Wayne Nelsen and wife Linda and Glenn Nelsen and wife Diana all of Blair, Nebraska, and Lois and husband Delbert Navrude of Woodbine; brother-in-law, Gary Pitt of Harrisonville, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.
