Funeral services for Theodore F. Holmes, 80, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in East McComb Baptist Church.

Mr. Holmes died at 1 a.m. today in Southwest Extended Care and Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

Born March 13, 1894, he was a native of Marion County and had lived in McComb since 1912. He was a resident of 140 Locust St.

He was a member of the East McComb Baptist Church and had served as a deacon for the past 56 years. Mr. Holmes was a retired machinist for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Jane Dunaway Holmes; two sons, T. J. Holmes, Port Neches, Tex., Ralph D. Holmes, McComb; one daughter, Mrs. Eloise H. Pardue, New Orleans, La.; one brother, M. D. Holmes, Memphis, Tenn.; five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Coon, Enon, Mrs. Rosa Sumrall, Foxworth, Mrs. Ivy Liles, Mrs. Ruby McIntosh, Mrs. Pearl Cutrer, all of McComb; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Deacons of the East McComb Baptist Church will serve as active and honorary pallbearers. The Rev. Jimmy McGee and the Rev. H. P. Porter will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery with Hartman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
