Thelma "Momma" Patterson
A retired East Baton Rouge Parish school bus driver, she died at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at her home in Baton Rouge. Visiting at Greater Mount Gideon Baptist Church, 205 Alice St., on Wednesday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Edward Howard. Interment in Israelite Baptist Church Cemetery, Brusly. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Patterson Perkins and Charles Perkins, and Kendra Bazile and Timothy Bazile; son and daughter-in-law, Bertrand and Diane Patterson; 11 grandchildren; four sisters, Doris Patterson, Evelyn Hamilton, Barbara James and Linda McKay; and two brothers, Joseph Patterson and the Rev. Roosevelt Patterson. Preceded in death by her parents, Wilma and Andrew Patterson Jr.; brother, Andrew Patterson III; sister, Mary Anderson Carey; and grandmother, Beatrice Jackson.
