A native of Rabun County, Ga., he was the son of the late George T. and Agnes Angel Stiles. He worked at Burlington Industries as a dye house supervisor and was presently employed at Drake Enterprise as a facilities manager. He was a retired member of the Clarks Chapel Volunteer Fire Department and first responders and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where he se served as chairman of the deacon's board, was a choir director, Sunday school teacher and licensed minister.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Drake.
He is survived by his wife, a son, six sisters, three brothers, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 4, in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Home. Revs. John Rogers and Dan Stiles officiated. Burial was in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Glenn Holland, Landy Holland, Jackie Gregory, Gene VanAernam, Mark Banks, Judson Stiles, Jamie Stiles and Daryl Holland.
