Isham Jones
Birth: Jan. 31, 1894
Death: Oct. 19, 1956

Composer. Born in Coalton, Ohio, he a prolific songwriter and led one of the most popular dance bands of the 1920s and 1930s. In his early career, he was a saxophonist in bands and eventually began his own Isham Jones Orchestra which toured throughout the United States and Europe. He wrote many hit songs such as "It Had to Be You", "I'll See You In My Dreams", "There is No Greater Love", "My Best to You", "Indiana Moon" and "You've Got Me Crying Again". He died in Hollywood California and was posthumously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
