Neona B. Purser, was born to Horace and Dessie (Young) BRIANS, in OK. She graduaded Gerty High School in 1932. She worked at California Canners and Growers, and its predecessor, Felice and Perelli, for more than 30 years. She was active in PTA, and enjoyed quilting and playing Bridge for a number of years. She was a charter member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Richmond. Her husband of 66 years, Lester, her sisters, Maxine and Imogene, and brother, Garland, preceded Neona in death. Her daughter, Glenda Hanks and husband Clarence of Green Valley survive her, along with sons, Milton Purser and his wife Margo of Napa, and Stephen and his wife Jamie of Richmond. She was blessed with five grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, besides many friends and family, who fondly remember the wonderful gatherings at the family home, and Neona's wonderful meals she lovingly prepared. She and Lester spent hours planting and harvesting vegetables at their farm near Clearlake. She will be missed but lovingly remembered by everyone she touched. Visitation held from 4 to 8 PM Thursday at Wilson & Kratzer, Civic Center Chapels, in Richmond. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life at 11 AM Friday, at Wilson & Kratzer. The family prefers donations to Alzheimer's Foundation or Mission Solano.
