DELAVAN - Carol Jean Blease, 61, of Delavan, formerly of East Peoria, died at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at her home.
She was born June 29, 1946, in Peoria to Ralph and Doris Greene Winship. She married David J. Blease on March 25, 1983, in Pekin. He survives.
Other survivors include her parents of East Peoria; one daughter, Tracy (Derek) Anderson of Pekin; two stepdaughters, Nicola (Lyndon) Perry of Pekin and Amy Blease of Worcester, England; one stepson, Stephen Blease of Stoughton, Wis.; seven grandchildren; one sister, Barbara (Michael) Hutchins of Morton; and one nephew, Sean Hutchins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, including her grandmother, Rena Greene, who played a significant role in her life; and one nephew, Christopher Michael Hutchins.
Carol was a speech and English educator, then went on to work at Caterpillar Inc. as a product support facilitator for 15 years. She later went on to do freelance and consulting work.
She was a United State Navy veteran.
She was a member of Delavan United Methodist Church and a former member of Heartland Christian Fellowship in Groveland.
Carol became a victim of PLS, Primary Lateral Sclerosis, which started limiting her accomplishments beginning in 2000.
Her passion and accomplishments included writing, music, drama and her relationships with God, her husband, children, family and friends.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at Delavan Baptist Church. Pastors Larry Moreau and Steve Waggoner will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday at Davis Mortuary, Delavan Chapel. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
