Funeral services for Albert Houston Morton, 91, of Lampasas, formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Keith Clifton officiating.

Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.

He died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, in Lampasas.

He was born on Jan. 14, 1916, in Panhandle. He married Odessa Griffin on March 15, 1936 in Snyder. He was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church since 1948. He was a carpenter for Alston Lumber for 15 years, and also had worked for Pace Packing for 14 years and worked for Sweetwater Electric for seven years. Before moving to Lampasas, he had lived in Sweetwater since 1947.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Morton and wife Mary of Lampasas; three grandchildren, Gary Morton, Marti Morton and Melinda Morton; and a great-grandchild, Lauryn Morton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Odessa Morton, in 1999; his son, Edward Morton, in 1970; his sister, Pearl Lesley; and his granddaughter, Rebecca Morton, in 2006.
