Born September 6, 1886 in Brenham, Texas, son of Wilhelm "William" SCHIER and Mrs. Auguste SCHIER, both of Germany. Member of St. John Lutheran Church in early manhood. Married to Miss Minnie Gross, who preceded him in death. He was a farmer in the Sandoval Community until 1935 and moved to Thrall where he owned and operated the Highway Cafe.
Survived by a son, E.M. (Sonny) Schier of Texas City; 3 daughters, Mrs. Emil Kelm, Mrs. Raymond Fuchs and Mrs. Erwin Teggeman of Thrall; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Augusta Hackemesser of Taylor and Mrs. August Limmer of Seguin and brother, Otto Schier of Port Isabel.
