William Dean Heimerdinger, 58, of 11919 Clinton-Tecumseh Rd., Clinton, died Saturday, November 12, 1994, in his home while under the loving care of his close friend and registered nurse, John Floros, and long time friends and caregivers, Lynn Gartee, and Pat and Cathy Murphy.

Mr. Heimerdinger was born June 19, 1936, in Manchester, Michigan to Clarence George and Silena Myrle (Lemm) Heimerdinger. He was a Clinton High School graduate, class of 1954.

He moved to Florida where he was employed as a dance instructor in the Arthur Murray Studio. After serving in the U.S. Army during 1959 to 1961, he studied tailoring in Germany. Upon returning to the states with his friend, Evelio Garrido of Spain, they created Evel Dean Exclusives in Tecumseh, designing unique fashions for 10 years. Mr. Heimerdinger continued dance instruction in the Dearborn Arthur Murray Studio, Dance Avenue, Dearborn, and in the Ann Arbor, Adrian, Tecumseh and Clinton areas. He was also active in the Croswell Opera House, Adrian, in costume design and as an actor. With his talents he helped with Clinton High School musical productions and sang for several area weddings. He was a member of the Clinton United Church of Christ.

Mr. Heimerdinger was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence George and Silena Myrle (Lemm) Heimerdinger, and his most significant friend, Evelio Garrido. He is survived by four brothers, George S. (Margaret), James A. (Evelyn), Clarence J., and David W. (Mary), all of Clinton; and three sisters, Lois E. (Hazen) Richardson, Onsted, Evelyn M. (Harold) Gregg, Adrian, and Ruth E. (Raymond) Ebach, Livonia; one aunt, Lois Lemm of Tecumseh; several nieces and nephews, and longtime friend and assistant, Lynn Gartee of Clinton.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 1994, at the United Church of Christ, Clinton, with the Rev. Mr. Wayne Brass. Memorial contributions may be made to: The AIDS Foundation, Hospice of Lenawee or the Clinton United Church of Christ Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home.
